Duvinage’s alternating tread stair designs offer a shorter horizontal span than traditional stairs and are ideal for many commercial and industrial applications. Duvinage alternating tread stairs are available in a wide range of custom and standard sizes. Similar to a Duvinage spiral stair, every alternating tread stair is expertly sized and specified for a specific application. A variety of materials are available, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Stairs can be finished in primer or air-dry paint, powder coated paint, or galvanized.

Alternating tread stairs are often used in industrial and commercial applications due to their unique features: space saving, available to wide range of angles, and adaptable to different facilitie requirements. The slope of alternating tread stairs can be as high as 68 degrees as opposed to standard stairs which are almost always less than 45 degrees. The only other alternative in such limited space would be a ladder which requires a backward-facing descent. Alternating tread stairs allow for a forward-facing decent.
