Made in the USA Since 1895.
Duvinage is a leading manufacturer of custom stairs since 1895. The company was founded in New York City by Pierre Duvinage, who patented the first spiral metal staircase in the United States. The company remained in New York until 1923 when it was sold to the Maryland Machine & Foundry Company and moved to Baltimore. As part of Maryland Machine and Foundry, the company built stairs for a wide variety of customers and applications, including residences, corporate office, hotels, hospitals, universities, bridges, tunnels, military bases, and schools. In 1932 Duvinage was relocated to Hagerstown, MD and in the 1950's William Walker bought the company. Mr. Walker moved Duvinage to its current location in 1957 and ran it successfully until the 1980s, when he sold the business. In 2007, the firm was acquired by Key Bridge Partners, a Washington, DC-based private investment firm.
Throughout its long history, Duvinage has been the recipient of a number of awards, including awards from The National Association of Architectural Metal Manufacturers. Most recently, the company received the coveted Made in Washington County Award, a prestigious award that honors Duvinage as a progressive company that has earned product recognition nationwide and maintained a quality product for over 100 years. Duvinage also received the first Safety and Health Awareness Recognition Award in 2004 by the Maryland Occupation Safety and Health Administration.
